10c Per Copy Vol XL MOHAVE COUNTY MINER CONTINUED STRIKES ON OATMAN UNITED The most important discoveries made in the Oatman camp in recent years have been brought to light through diamond drilling operations on the 600 level of the Oatman United mine where ore bodies of great size and value have been picked up Each new hole has been more potential than the preceding one as the management continues to get better and better in sight into the ramifications of the vein The last hole which was brought in Tuesday shows the vein to have a width never before dreamed of the drill going through 70 feet of mineralized material the values rang ing far out in the dike material The core from this hole gave an average across the vein and dike of 12 the quartz running from that value to 89 To get a better idea of the condition of the work and the manner of car- Tying it into the value carrying part of the vein it is explained that the drift from the shaft was carried off about 1800 feet to the sou...

I FRIDAY JANUARY 27 1922 COMPARISON OF MINING COSTS ON TWO SCALjSOF DEVELOPMENT PBErATOBY EXPLANATION This article Is a rewrite of a letter written for the officers of a minlnff company which has a mine 600 feet deep with a mill on the ground and with extensive workings showing faces of good ore but which needs 100000 in development and modern equipment to become an efficiently operated mine It is now idl and cannot pay through the present methods Tne orricers want to sen stocK to put tne mine in snape tnougn they have only a minority interest that can be sold They expect to raise 100 000 with only 20 per1 cent of the stock in the treasury The proposition is not attractive to big investors The only solution possible was the co operation of the stockholders The mine has merit but to fritter away the money from a few stock sales each month accomplishes absolutely nothing and there must como an ultimate end failure and reorganization unless the money is husbanded and accumulated until ...
