For gome time I was at loss to account for this freak ; but it afterward occurred to me that the last time I had crossed the bridge and with the same horse, I had pulled up at that spot to speak to a man. The shoulders . should be carefully washed at noon and night, and then laved with cold water until all Inflammation Is gone and the wound cool. The first opportunity should be taken to give the animal rest until the shoulder is entirely healed. It Is a lamentable fact that much of the machinery used on the farm bears very heavily on the horses necks.
