10 The Hereford Brand, Friday, August 28, 1908 Look Over His Balance for the first time many a man is surprised to find himself so much ahead. He has bought every- thing he needed, yet has more money ahead than he ever had when he kept his own cash. 12 The Hereford Brand, Friday, August 28, 1908 AMOUNT TO SOW (Continued from pa«e 1) per acre, one third" ; but advises to cut it to one bushel, but does not give any reason for this reduction of seed. I can not say that I can give expert testimony on wheat or amount of seed per acre, but will say facts are hard to get round and that is what we quote. It the first place the amount of seed per acre depends largely upon the condition of the soil when the seed is planted and also the time of the year has some- thing to do with this important item. "" In 1905, on the Wantland Farm we sowed 251bs. seed wheat per acre and threshed by actual measurement 33 bushels per acre. One of my neighbors the same year sowed one and one-half bushels per acre and threshed 20 bushels per acre, and his stand of wheat was not so good as that on the Wantland Farm with less seed. On September 27th, 1907, I sowed 25 pounds seed per acre and harvested 30.8 bushels per acre, more than any of my neighbors who s...

The first big car of our bargain-bought furniture is now unloaded. Unequalled values have never been offered, such as we are now able to give you. Because you know when you are trading with a re- sponsible concern, and if things should not come up 0 K, you know where to find us—we are at the same old corner and it's the same old firm who gives you quality and rounded up, running over and swelled up hundred cents worth on the dollar. So you see it it Values with us and we still live to back it. "A hint to the wise is sufficient." HOME INDUSTRY. There is not a newspaper in Texas but that has advocated the Home Industry policy. In the larger cities of the state, namely : Ft. The ultimate end of such a policy would cut off commercial and industrial intercourse and every city would live within its own walls. Such an end is neither practical nor desirable T...
