A STRANGE MYSTERY. SUPPOSED MURDER 01? X BROTHER. ]Srat Michael Kir wan, au old man, has been brought up at Bairnsdale and ivmanded on a charge of maliciously ?'shobtinff with intent to do gi^eyqus j bodily harm to Michael Reardon. The -latter was shot while talking to Ixirwan's wife. The case revives an old mystery. Kirwan's brother J ohn 'dfsij^pGared mysteriously in 3 886: John had a quarrel with Michael, and the latter served a toi'ra of imprison ment for shooting at him. Michael, on lea-zing prison, went mining with John at Boggy Greek, and it is reported- that m 1886 John disappeared.
