CUNGEGONG, COOTAMUNDRA. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) [Newspaper Article] — Wagga Wagga Advertiser — 8 December 1875

CUNGEGONG, COOTAMUNDRA. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) An inquest was held at Bethungra on Monday, the 29th ult., on the body of a man named Heim Jordan, who was killed on the day previous by a fall from his horse. It appears he and two others were running in horses, and when near the fence at the Bethungra yard, the horses wheeled, and in endeavouring to prevent them getting away, it is supposed his horse must have fallen in a narrow gutter, and thrown his rider. The other two men were not aware of it until they saw the horse in the yard with the   mob. On searching, they found the body about fifty yards from the fence quite dead. The fall had broken the neck. The only signs of a bruise was on the check-bone under the eye. Death must have been in- stantaneous. The deceased was a very   sober, steady man, and much respected in   the district. The funeral took place at Bethungra after the inquest. We have had some very high winds   o...
