Montville. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 15 April 1904

Moniville. We had quite a crowd of I visitors staying at Mrs. Dal- j ton's place ' Elston,' during Easter week. On Good Fri day, Mr.- Allan (of Allan & Stark) and his two sons from Brisbane, and Misses Petrie and Millar (Manrborough) ar rived, and on Tuesday were joined by Misses Stark and Ethel Allan. On Easter Mon day Mr. Stupart organised a picnic: to Bon Accord Falls, j the party being constituted as follows : — Mr. Allan and sons, Mr Clacker and family, Mr. Russell and family, Mr. Phil lips and family, Messn;. R. and A. Bulcock, Brown, Stu part, Misses Perxie, Millar, Daltoia and Palmer. Thanks to the efforts of Messrs. Stu part and Phillipsj who had a week beforehand brushed a track from the road to the J falls, the trip was not an ar- j dous one, aud in spite of a few accidents, such as slipping into the water while crossing the creek, etc., a most enjoy able clay was spent. Several gentlemen went to the foot of the falls where several photo graphic views were secured...

Eumundi. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 15 April 1904

Eumundi. We are having a great deal too much rain, which is mak ing ihe road inipass;able, so much so -that teamsters have had to give over working for a j time. A year or'two'agG the j timber trade in this district j was very brisk, there being at one time as many as v.7 teams (bullocks and horses) engaged in hauling, so that with the roads in fair order a large number of logs were drawn to the railway station, the yard, of which was piled with logs to such an'; extent that working space was at a premium. To day we can only boast of 9 or 10 teamsj diseases among the stock being the chief cause of a lesser number working. The cricket match, Eu niiindi v. Yandina, had to be postponed for the third time on Saturday last on account of the unfavourable weather pre dominating. The Easter holidays passed off very quietly, most of those in sesxeh of sport going out to the Kenilworth races. I should like to see a hall erected in the township, so that Eumundi might not only haye a place of a...

Why does Mr. Dunlop not touch the oth ir matters to which I referred ? I never ac cused Mr. Campbell of bungling ?- Durundur; I merely askect theques- - tion of him who was responsible Mr. Dunlop claims that thj.' selection i of 30.000 acres out of .jo.-tao is sue- ' cess. Such an idea no dclubt would ? be held by a man whc{ has re sided at Maleny for 20 j...
