FOOTBALL. [Newspaper Article] — The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser — 6 May 1927

FOOTBALL. For the past two seasons the winter game in Mannum has been at a low i ebb, and public patronage practically non-existent. The struggle to keep, the association going has failed tor the time being, and this year there is only one Mannum club, which has been admitted to the Murray Ranges Football Association, comprised of tba following clubs:—Eden Valley, Spring ton, Cambral-Sedan and Mannum. MOTORING COSTS. [Newspaper Article] — The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser — 6 May 1927

MOTORING COST8. It would be quite informative if a liat could be made of the many drains upon the purse of the average motor owner. What with driving licence, car licence, insurance, garage rate, water rate, parking charges, tips, and all the other incidentals the list would be a formidable one. And yet, so great is the attraction of the car, that if the list was twice as long people would face it rather than give up motoring. But that is no reason why motorists should allow themselves to he exploited, and if every motor owner was a member of some active motoring organisation there would be better possibility of united action to keep down the various charges which are being loaded on to the car owner to-day. Otherwise he will be further exploited.
