"The committee appointed to effect tho res 'torstion or Independence 1111 at Philadelphia, iias made a report of the work done during the past year. The committee made a preliminary report Juno 7, 1873. At that date the cham ber in which the Declaration of Independence was signed had been" dlalncumbered of its anachronisms, and such portraits only had boen retained or procured by the committee as woro illustrative of its national memories of 1779. To these coma portraits of the signers of the Declaration have been added since, and a fow more are dally expected.
