We dropped her off at UNT this past Sunday, a day of i^Hars, laughter, ^excitement and lots of prayer. Of course her mom and I had all the typical feelings of regrets and pride. Sorry, this is another letting-go, off-to-college, parental reverie! But hey, I had to throw in my two cents, both as a dad and as a kid's minister. It's been a whirl-wind summer for Bethany as she prepared for launch. She needed a car. She need- ed a laptop. She needed to say goodbye to her friends. She needed to leave her job here at Chili's and transfer to the Chili's in Denton. She needed to finalize various loans and grants. And since Bethany is studying interior design, she of course nee...

We will be looking at the usage data from July and August over the next few weeks. According to Hickey, an alterna- tive to Stage 4 has been contemplat- ed, bul not thoroughly addressed. "We have discussed the possibili- ty of going to a modified Stage 3, with restrictions that are tougher than the current Stage 3, but not as stringent as Stage 4 measures," said Hickey. "Though it is a considera- tion, no details have been firmed up and no decisions have been made. As things currently stand we are still in Stage 3 and Stage 4 would be the next step." Thursday, August 31, 2006 - THE SACHSE NEWS - Section B - Page 3 Wylie Football Pirates hunt up some Jackrabbits Wylie drops Forney, 13-7, during controlled scrimmage at Pirate Stadium By Shiela K. Haynes Pirate fans got a first look at their team Friday as Wylie scrimmaged the Forney Jackrabbits at Pirate Stadium. The first half of the scrim- mage was played in a time-con- trolled format with the teams taking set turns on offense and then switched to a more conventional game format with two 12-minute quarters to finish. Wylie was clearly the stronger team taking a 13-7 win. The 2006 regular season begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m., when the Pirates travel to Waco to play Temple in the H-E-B Heart of Texas Football Classic. ^ However, head coach Bill |Howard said Forney is an average 4A team and played without their starting quarterback. The Lady Pirates faced Sachse on Tuesday, Aug 29, at Mesquite Horn. Results were not available at press time. Wylie will travel to San Marcos for a tournament this weekend, and they will compete in a tri-meet with Mesquite Horn and Denton Ryan at Denton on Sept 5 before beginning district play Sept. 8 against Berkner.
