150 INJURED When Grandstand Collapsed Miraculous Escapes from Death | Upwards of 150 people were injured when .portion of the Leger stand at the Roseberry racecourse collapsed-on Saturday. I The accident occurred about 3.45 just before the Trial Stakes was run. Rain commenced to fall and a huge ero>yd |,estimated at 2000 to 2500, pack ed int;o the stand, a one-story wooden concern supported on hardwood up rights and struts of oregon timber 9in by 3in, with underneath a tea-room and liquor bar. About 20ft of the sloped apd ter raced staging at the western end of the building collapsed and hundreds of people were flung in all directions.
