What Dyspeptics Should Know. Physicians Timely Advice. [Newspaper Article] — Bruthen and Tambo Times — 5 August 1914

What Dyspeptics Should Know. Physicians Timely Advicc. The fact that few dyspectics really understand the cause of their trouble is probably the rea ( son why drugs arj still used tc j such an alarming extent. Physicians use bisurat ed magnesia themselves as well as recommend it to their patients, because they recognise that it not only overcomes dangerous stomach acid and . thus ensures easy digestion, nut' by its use no harmful drug is introduced into the system and therefore there can be no unpleasant after-effects. Half-a-teaspoonful taken in a lit tle water after meals is usually (Juite sufficient to keep the food contents of the stomach free f...

A.N.A.y BRUTHEN. The usual fortnightly meeting of the above branch was held on 29th alt; Ex-president Mays oc cupied the chair and there was a good attendance of members. After the ordinary business had been disposed of, the acting, sec retary, Mr P. J. Price presided and there was a fair attendance of probable growers. Mr Dyer said he had not come to tell people how to grow beet, but to have a talk with those who intended to grow beet in this lo cality. They were fortunate in having "one of the most suc cessful beet growers from the Boisdale district (Mr E. J. Tim mins) amongst them. Most peo ple thought that because the su gar factory was^at Maffra, that that town received all the benefit from beet growing, but that was not the case. The town got a lit tle more benefit than other places because of the few employees at the factory but nothing beyond that. The people that grew beet not only benefitted themselves but the country also. The dis tricts of Boisdale and Stratford had benefitted by beet growing and until recently the latter town had been lethargic. The Govern ment ...
