THE RAILWAY FROM MURRUMBURRAH TO GRANGE, via GRENFELL. [Newspaper Article] — The Grenfell Record and Lachlan District Advertiser — 27 September 1879

THE RAILWAY FROM MURRUMBURRAH TO GRANGE, via GRENFELL. As Parliament will moet next month, holders of copies of the Greufell Railway League memorial residing in the country, should not lose any time in Danvassing for signatures. To the Editor of the Grenfell Record. [Newspaper Article] — The Grenfell Record and Lachlan District Advertiser — 27 September 1879

To the Editor of the Grenfell Record. Sir, — I hold it as a principle, that any poison who has anything worth communicating through the columns of the public Press, should not be ashamed to append his own name to the produc tion. Therefore, as I am the responuible party in letting tho old church building for school purposes, I do not feel bound to answer the queries of an unknown correspondent in your last issue, who shelters himself under the noin de plume of ' Secular' and Free. ' However, as the writer is evidently bent on mischief, and also shifts his inquisitiveness on to the shoulders of tho public Generally, I feel consfr.tinod to furnish the ' public information ' thus de manded. The old church building never u'a.t granted free of charge, nor, from the beginning, was it ever intended it should be. Mr. Flannery '? application, in writing (which I hold) was for permission to ' rant ' the building for the pur poses of a private school. My reply was, that Mr. F. could make immed...
