The following license laws were adopted: AN ORDINANCE to levy, collect and en force the payment of an annual license tax upon all persons, associations of persons or business 'irms and corpora tions pursuing any trade, profession, vocation, calling or business, except those expressly excepted from such li cease tax by Article 229 of the consti tution, and prescribing the mtNle and method in which certain persons, sub ject to license, shall make report of their business. Police Jury Proceedings. Lafayette, La., Dec. 17, 1902o.-The Po-. lice Jury met this day pursuant to adjourn ment with the following members present: M. Billeaud, Jr., J. C. Buchanan, F. G. Mouton, John Whittington, Alex M. Brous sard, Saul Broussard, Alonzo Lacy, J. A. Labbe and J. O. Blanchet. Mr. Mouton called attention to needed repair of the court-house roof and was au thorized to attend to same.
