Going oat, we Mopped at the HcawTucc, six miles trom town, and at the invitation of the kind boat, Mr. Lisdlct, remained there to dine. We had a fine dinner, followed by a dessert of deliciou* peaches and milk Pursuing our way, over a pleasant road, we soon reached Wilt's Sine Mtlt ttnat, and after exchanging a few words with the good natored and humorous landlord, rode on to the Bar. which is about sixteen miles from Mary svilie. We arnred there in lime to aee the miners at their afternoon work; the Tillage, which is built mostly of canvass tenia, was almost deserted; the inhabitant* were delving down among the stones and earth near the river bank; some digging with pick and spade, others wheeling the earth in barrows to the rockera, others patiently rocking the cradles to obtain that by which they hope to gain repose hereafter, others pouring water into the rockers...
