DISASTROUS CONFLAGRATION A fire at Bourke haB destroyed the Stevens' Hill Church and the adjoining Church buildings. The buildings on the opposite side of the street also caught alight, but the flames were ex tinguished before serious damage was done. The loss is estimated at .£3000.

WARNING AGAINST BAD WATER. Six men who were engaged harvest ing at the Forest Mill, eight miles from Wagga Wagga, have been attacked by typhoid fever, the result of drinking foetid water. Two of the men have died and two others are being treated at the Wagga Hospital.

Miowera will be five clays late reaching1 Sydney. The Miowera fell in with the steamer Straltrenius, which was in a disabled state. FIRE IN A THEATRE. SENSATIONAL SCENES. MANY LIVES LOST. A terrible fire has occurred in a theatre at Baltimore, involving the death of 24 spectators and serious injury to 40 others. The interior ?when the alarm of fire was given pre sented a scene of considerable confu sion, and scores of victims were trampled under foot in the wild rush for the doers. A pantomime was being played, when the fire broke out iu the wings. The steel curtain was promptly lowered, but the fire crept under the stage, and extended to the orchestral stalls. A mad panic ensued. The manager escaped at the rear of the building.
