After being discharged from the army he went to reside in Mildura. AIRCRAFT IN AGRICULTURE ,,or the first time in the Alexandrg district, aircraft will be used as a farm implement when they are to operate on spraying saffron thistles. The first of this work is expected to be carried out on May 31st. The plane will be a Tiger Moth belonginj to a N.S.W. company, Air Epiculturc Control Ltd., who have been gettini so much work in Victoria that a Vic. torian company has now been forme known as Air-Epiculture Control :(VI toria) Ltd. The work carried out bb this company consists of crop spray ihg for weed control and insect pests the' distribution of superphosphate seed sowing, spraying for weed co trol, etc. "In New South Wales and Queen land considerable acreages of Bath-i -urt -Burr and Noogoora. ALEXANDRA DISTRICT JUNIOR CRICKET ASSOCIATION. The annual pie night of the above association was -held in the Parish Hall on Wedn'esday,. May 16. .Mr. R. Payne, president of the National Fitness. Commnittee,, -pre sented the "Weeks' Cup" to John El ward, captain of the C.E.B.S. team, which won the premiership. The fol lowing presentations were also made: Cr. -R. Briggs presented John El. ward, tvho topped the batting aver ages with 57, with a suitable trophy. The bowling honors went to Peter Tossal, who took 14 wickets for 75 runs, at an average of 5.5; while the best fieldsman for the season was J. Argent. Trophies donated by Alexandra 'Clubs Nos. 1 and 2 will be presented to Peter and John, who were absent from the evening. Mr. Payne stated that the boys were very keen on the Saturday morning cricket, and it was to be, hoped that next year the association would have an even more successful season than that of 1950-51.
