Mr Sub-Inspector Johnston [The following appeared in our country edition on Tues day-] This (Tuesday) morning Mr Sub Inspector Johnston bade farewell to the local bench of Magistrates. There were present — Mr Martin, P.M., and Messrs J. Johnston, R. Gibson, J. Andrew, W. J. Thompson, J. Beveridge, and G. G. Claughton, J.'sP. The members of the legal profession present were Messrs L. S. C. Robert son, and (J. W. Alexander. Hay I'olicc Court. Tubsdat, — Before the P.M Matthew OLeong v. David Gamp bell, unlawful assault at Hay on the Gth April. Mr Wilkinson appeared for plain tiff, and Mr Robertson for the defence. The defendant pleaded not guilty. Important Case under the Liquor Act. (From our own Correspondent). At the Cudjellico Police Court 011 Wednesday, April 10, before Mr. F. B. Treatt, P.M., William Greig was charged under Liquor Act, No. 18, of 1898, section 99, with carrying about liquor for sale without a license. Defendant pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr. G. P. Evans, solicitor, of Wyalong.
