COMMERCIAL. ' THE WOOL MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Townsville, received a telegram on Saturday from their Brisbane branch advising them that at the wool sale at Erisbano on Friday the market ruled firm for all good wools. There was a splendid attendance of buyers. The firm .obtained top prices for greasies at 12^d, and sold Minamere (Rich mond) at 10Wd, Clulha (Richmond combing) at lOd. They had also the top market price for scoured wools with Rosedale at 23%d, and sold Clutlia scoured at 23d, Grangedale (Richmond) at 23d, and Minamere at 22%d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercan tile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following wire from their Brisbane office under date 19th : — Mar- ket for good wools very firm at late rates, but medium and inferior wools very irregular ; sold Evesham scoured to 20%d. A STANNARY HILLS MINING CASE. The case of Johnson and Others v. The Stannary Hills Mines and Tram way Co., Ltd., was heard before War den Parkinson on Tuesday, June 25th. Mr Rlngrnse appeared for the plain tiffs, and Mr A. J. P. MacDonnell for the defendant Company (says tho 'W and T. Miner'). The plaintiffs had pegged out four men's ground below the Stannary Hills Company's dam at Rocky Bluffs as an alluvial claim, intending to work the tailing* coming with the flow of water from the mill. The Company held a water right over the ground applied for, but no tailngs area. No attempt had been made by the Company to securn the tailings, and no work had been done thereon. In the course of the argument It appeared that In the de finition Riven in the Mining Act Sec tion 3, there Is no reference to any minerals other than gold. 'AUSTRALIA V. NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph.) BRISBANE, July 20. The Rugby match, Australia v. New Zealand, played at Sydney, was won by New Zealand by 2G points to G. SYDNEY, July 21. The Rugby football match between Australia and New Zealand was played in the presence of about 50,000 people, the Governor-General (Lord Nortli cote), the State Governor (Sir Harry Rawson), and Vicc-Admlral Fawkes were among the spectators. Tho game at the outset was played at a terrific pace, the visitors' forwards and backs playing a game which made them fa mous the world over. They simply ran over tho Australian forwards and backs and showed some of the finest combinations over seen in Sydney.
