COROWA ELECTORATE. [Newspaper Article] — Tocumwal Guardian and Riverina Echo — 12 December 1913

COROYVA ELECTORATE. As was generally expected the result of the Corowa electorate was a decided win for Mr. R. T. Ball, the sitting member who was a warm favorite from the outset. He had represented the Corowa elecorate " for nine vears past, and previous to that had for. five years been the member (for Al bury, adjoining. In the re distribution of IQ04 oart of the Albury electorate was placed in the Corowa electorate, and Mr. Ball decided to throw in his lot with the electors of the western side. He won _ the new seat 1 easily and retained it with in creasing majorities at each subsequent election. This year the boundaries of the electorates have again been chauged, and more of the eastern side has been cut out of the old Corowa elprtnr ate. Over 2000 votes were cut off from the eastern side and "about the same number of elect ors taken in from the western side, from the old Deniliquin electorate, represented in .the last Parliament by Mr. H. STATE ELECTIONS. Parties Fairly Even. TWELVE SECOND BALLOTS. [Newspaper Article] — Tocumwal Guardian and Riverina Echo — 12 December 1913

STATE ELECTION. Parties Fairly Even. TWELVE SECOND BALLOTS. The N.S.W. State elections were held on Saturday, and at present it appears uncertain to I'uriicast what might be the ulti mate result and oosition of parties, as there will be no less :han 12 sccond ballots. The M.S.W. electoral law provides that unless one of three or more candidates secures an absolute majority "of the votes cast at the first ballot the two hichest on-the pall must go to a second ballot within a ccrtain number of days —about a fortnight. — • The result so far annears to be more in favor of the Labor Party than, was anticipated in Liberal quarters, but the most sanguine of the latter exoect Mr. Wade to have a following after the second ] ballots of three or four majority, j All the Labor Ministry, with i the exception of Mr. D. R. Hall, I who contested the new electorate | of E.nmorc against Dr. Bohrsman have been returned, but with de creased majorities except in the case of the Premier, who secured a wi...

THE LIVKni'OOL MOTH. Surely the lapso of disciple which the disgraceful behaviour of t^c trainees nt Liverpool implies, should rcccivc the reprobation of the whole community.
