THE DAILY DISPATCH E*cksT Di covkbiei.—Mr. Kendall, io one oftais "?reeable letters to the N. O. Picayur.s, hi« «! following items : . A british resident in Russia has recently made a discovery which, if all accounts be tru«', promises to be of great importance to painters snd varnishers It is to the effect thit the seed of the tobacco plant contains over 15 per cent, of its. weight ol drying oil, t.f superior quality and ofaasy extraction, i heprticeits by which the oil is extracted is to reduce the seed 10 pu»* der. and knead it into a stiff paste, by adding a sufficient quantity of hot water, a(c«r which the paste is submitted to the action ot a very strong; press. 'I'he oil thus obtained is then exposed to a moderate heat, wnich, by coagulating the vegetable albumen of the seed, causes all impurities to form a cake at the bottom, leaving the oil perfectly clear. This cil, although extremely liaipid, possesses, it may be said, the drving quality to a much higher degree thaa any o...

THE DAILY DISPATCH. CyrWdrruiatimi of the Hatty I>f#pateh exceed* conaiderftblr that of all th« Dally paper* of Richmond combined. RICHMOND, VA.: TUESDAY AUGUST 9. 1853. A New Dress. The Dispatch appears this morning in a new dress: one that we hope will be approved by oar renders for its general good taste and comeliness. This improvement ought to have been made earlier; for the heavy service to which our types have been subjected by the large editions of the Daily and Weekly Dispatch has wont them down rapidly, and some time since rendered them nn-/>re**-worthy. Knowing the value of a good appearance though personally we confess we do not always preserve it—we have been qiyte eager to make the change which the Dispatch has this morning undergone. V e owe it to the public for the liberal support they have given to the paper to keep it always well printed— to make it esteemed, as well for its good looks as for its contents; and it will be alike ©ur pride and pl...
