BASKETBALL MEN AWARDED GOLD BASKET BALLS

On last Thursday in the Chapel Hall, gold bosket halls were presented to tho championship i|uint who fought no hard and successfully throughout lust season. Chapel hour was tttmed over lo coach and he, nlie,- a short, talk about baseball prospects, delivered the tokens to the team and its manage!'. Those receiv- ing these beautiful little insigmas were Capt. Wood, Dickerson, Tyson, fair, Wicker and Manager Adams, At n bnnipi'-t tendered to the team by Coach Pobson immediately after ihe season elosedi Dick Wood was again eh n v captain, and will doubt- less have practically bin entire cham- pionship learn hack again next year with l!i1 ' exception of Wicker, whoua four years athletic activity has ended. Our : !liii-tif teams have made a great record this year, tying the foot- hall race, winning the basketball, and showing thus far an excellent chance «f copping the baseball gonfalon.

Marths Smith spent the vacation with Mary Weaver In Newport News. Cynthis Thompson and Hester Tlchenor Stem to have been very anx- ious to see "Ihe old folks at homo," one going all the way to Kentucky, and the other to Georgia, "l.cone Clay visited Virginia Karnes in Covington during the holi- days. Luetic Bland, tho last of the measles patients, has been suffering with her ears as a result of the dis- ease l.ois Rogers was called home Fri- day by tho serious illness of her brother.
