LATEST SPECIAL TELEGRAM. f Through OrevilU and Co,, TelegrammUts.) SYDNEY, Fridiy Night. Messrs. J. B. Wilson and C. Oamporll are announced as candidates for the representation of East Sydney. The Hon. 8. Samuel, Colonial Treasurer, has made his inanria! statement! Amongst other matters it proposes the abolition of the Newspaper Postage Act on the 1st April next. The estimated deficiency in the revenue of the colony at the end of the present year exceeds £100,000. It is proposed to raise that amonnt by loan. Mr. Parkes has resigned his seat in the Assembly as member for East Sydney, and a requisition to Mr. J. B. Wilstin to offer himself for the vneant eeat is being signed Mr. Parkes retains his seat for Kiama. Messrs. Manning's Mackenzie's, and Staiger's processes for preserving meat have been amalgamated, and arrange ments have already been entered into for curing large quantities of meat in Quoensland ; the minimum is ten tons per week.
