That our readers may be kept posted up we below give a copy of the order : THB BCARER IS ENTITLED TOfBCElVE ONE or PERHAM S oifr ENGRAVINGS On the presentation of this order to WM : EASTLAND , Rear of 80 Locust street , Philadelp hia . IRA BDCKMAN , ROB T BEATT . V , Sec y . Ch n Com . The engraving is well worth one shilling , it is supposed , but our friend cannot see what advantage it will be to him to pay Adams & Co . two shillings to bring the said engraving on to him . We have consoled him with the assurance that others more worthy than himself of an engraving have been cut off with a book !

Mickey Free ' s Ball [Newspaper Article] — New York Clipper — 4 March 1854

Mickey Free s Ball Mickey Frees Ball , at Jersey City , a few evenings since , was a curious affair . Things were progressing very nicely , until a person called Nosey made his appearance , and had commenced singing the Oyster Gal , when some mischievous lads of Jersey got six or seven pounds of flour , and at a signal showered the whole of it upon poor Nosey , who was almost suffocated . In the confusion , several packs of fire crackers were set off near the benches occupied by the females , and the latter becoming frightened , yelled as loud as they could bawl . A regular row then took place , when Mickey , thinking discretion the better part of valor , brought in the police , and had the whole party turned out . Nosey is doing as well as can be expected . Pigeon Shooting . A match took place on Saturday last , at Hoboken , between Rowland Woolley , of Newark , N . J ., and Simeon Howarth , of Yonkers , N . Y ., at eight pigeons each , for $ 20 aside ; 91 yards rise , and 80 yards...

What do you think of that , boys ? YACHTING [Newspaper Article] — New York Clipper — 4 March 1854

YACHTING We anticipate some glorious sport in the yachting world during the approaching season . New yachts are building , old ones repairing , and preparations making to do some tall sailing . This is right , for the Philadelphians are busily engaged in brushing up old craft , and building new ones , and they expect by the aid of the latter . to achieve a victory over our fast sailers . We shall see . Post Office Advertising . The Herald , not having as large a circulation as it had this time last year , has again been defeated in the race for the advertising of the List of Letters . We suppose the Daily Times is accountable , in some measure , for the falling off in the circulation of the Herald
