Whiteway & Hicks, the Welser con tractors were the fortunate bidden for the Warren-BlK creek wagon road their proposal to do all the 'work called for In the advertisement for a total sum of $25,000 being considered the best bid, and that firm gets the contract. The work Includes about 35 miles of road constructions, with a bridge across the south fork of the Salmon river. But one other bid was received for the entire work, that of the Northwestern Bridge & Construc tion company. The road will be built on what Is known as Elk creek summit route which the comminslon accepted as ac commodating the greater number of people. The state will bear half the expense of the road, the balance of the money being raised by subscription.
