Page 4 la e LIMELIGHT Harry W. Flannery recently re- turned from Berlin where he was war correspondent for the Columbia Broadcasting System says that the German people believe the war Is necessary. They are not enthusiastic about it but feel that it must be carried through. Flannery also said that German morale shows few signs of cracking. "German morale is different from the thing we think of as cracking. German morale is different from the thing we think of as morale" Flan- nery said. "It is something deep in- side." The Germans never seem to enjoy things anymore the correspondent related. Ho recalled feeling con- splcious when ho cheered at sport- ing events. The Germans merely ap- plauded politely. That was the ex- tent of their enthusiasm. Correspondents are never permit- ted to see German casualty lists Flannery added. However the fact that the Germans have admitted the loss of 400000 in the Russian cam- paign indicates that the real figure is enormous. Flannery told of seeing...

YELLOW JACKET Pacre 1 JACKET -BEAR CLASH HIGHLIGHTS ANNUAL HOMECOMING November 20 1941 r! ?SH I I ime We wish to pause here In the mid- dle of the days activities to pay tri- bute to the loyal and true blue exes who arc on our campus today. Many of them are cx-football players who went through a lot for the glory of the Blue and Gold. If It were not for these men wo would not have the Howard Payne that we have today. Time Out wants to welcome them back and tell them that each student appreciates what they did for our school in the years before our time. Football Is a funny game. One team may be on top one week and In a couple of games they arc far down the list. Take Texas for In- stance they won several games in a row and got the idea that they couldn't be beat. They sailed along fine until they met the spirit of Bay- lor and Texas Christian. It was not that the Bears and Hornfrogs were better players It was that they had the determination to hit hard and keep on hitting hard. Dizz...
