SEPARATION OF MORETON BAY. [Newspaper Article] — The North Australian, Ipswich and General Advertiser — 22 September 1857

SEPARATION OF MOUETON BAY. A copy of the subjoined desjjatclies reached us too late yesterday to admit of our noticing their contents in thiB duy'u issue. We hope, however, that the subject of tho proposed boundary line will be deemed of sufficient im portance — and it appears to us to be of pora mouut importance — to elicit an expression of public opinion on Uhe matter. We therefore strongly recommend tltat a public meeting of tho inhabitants should be convened for the purpose witliout delay, and that a petitiou to the Queen should ho drawn up and adopted, protesting against the contemplated boundary. The Northern Members, wo understand, have forwardtd their protest against it, and it is absolutely necessary that the people of this district should unauinu-U6ly Biipport them in the struggle for our undoubted aud just rights. Colonial StiVfterf/'s Office, Sydntg, 16fA S»pUr,,ber, 1857. ITis Excellency the Govcrtior-Oenerni is pleased to direct the publication, for general information...
