The secretary stated he had received an answer from Mr. Alexander, shire secretary, saying that Mr. Wintel owned the property east and west, and Mr. .Davis south of the Mechanics' block.; he had.written to Mr. Wintel and had received an answer to the effect that he was not able to make a contribution to the Mechanics' Institute owing to funds being low at present.
