SOMA, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1876. Fbom amongst the reports published by the j I Queensland press of meetings held by inhabit-. ants of various localities to ventilate their ideas, approving of or condemning the present: Ministry, that of a late meeting ab Dalby affords us a striking instance of how people will take' a one-sided view of things, when the subject matter affects their, interest directly-or indirectly, and endeavour to make their deliberations appear as the, expression of the country at large. The remarks that fell from some of the speakers at the meeting alluded to, would have been atnusing enough had they been uttered by a lot of schoolboys at play, but when emanating from learned men, supposed by a pleasant fiction to have arrived at "yearsof discretion,"- they appear simply absurd and puerile. Take for the resolution proposed by one of the speakers, viz.:—" That the squatters be compelled tp allow the stock of selectors to eat.off the grass on any part of their runs...
