O'Donnell and Ray Pantomime Co. [Newspaper Article] — The Western Champion — 8 July 1922

I Q'Dannelf and Ray Pantomime Go. —oO&— Following a very successful season in Roekhampton during the Carnival festivities, the O'Donnell and Ray Pantomime Company visited Barcal dine on Wednesday evening last and played "Jack and the Beanstalk" to a crowded and appreciative house. The giant (about 10ft. high), a splendid get-up, attracted no littta attention, especially when he paraded i the streets in the afternoon. Tak ing it right through, the combination is an excellent one of its kind. ■ Everything is well produced, the ; costuming of the dancers, &c., is very fine, and the performance goes with a good swing from end to end. The life of the piece is, of course, Mr. Bert Ray, aS the Dame. He Is a veritable talking encyclopaedia, and his gags and quips and songs are extremely amusing, to say noth ing of his "Parisian gowns." His Jokes and funny expressions are \ too , numerous to enumerate, but he keeps the house in a simmer ol merriment all the time he is on the ...

SPORTING r.-s, NOTES Wo will appreciate contributions o po* items for this column. The Charleville Racing Club seems to be scoring real bad luck. When a cornfed meeting was advertised for a couple of months ago the fixture had to be abandoned owing to lack of nominations.
