[ ' PENRITH MUNICIPAL COUNCIL. THE prdinary fortnightly session of the Council -was held in the Chamber, on Thurs day evening last. There was present-The Mayor, Aldermen Paskin, John Price, James Evans, Long, Cross, and Smith. ' MINUTES. The minutes of previous meeting wero read, and confirmed. PETITIONS. ., A petition was read calling the attention of the Council to the state . of the water course which overflows High-street during times of rain. The petition also called at tention to a drain in Mr. Woodriffe's pad dock which caused the said overflow. The petition was signed by several ratepayers. Aid. Paskin thought that the matter re quired attention. The drain referred to was the direct cause of the flooding. He .moved the reception of the report, and that .it.be referred to.the,Works Committee.
