n if I: The Citizen. 8ATURDAY, JANUARY U. 18S0. ORO BLANCO. Its Natural Adrantages, Mineral Wealth, General Development, Progress, Etc, Aside from its mineral -wealth Oro Blanco possesses perhaps more natural advantages than can be claimed by her neighboring districts. The surface of the country is rolling without being rugged. The mountains are covered; with a heavy growth of oak timber, an essential commodity for cheap milling and smelting as well as for general camp use. Most of the canyons have running streams, bubbling springs, or surface evidence of an abundant -water supply at a trifling depth, Trhich is another consideration of great import ance to mining men. Grass is every where abundant and of an excellrnt quality. Occasional tracts of tillable land afford a sufficient area for the cultivation of garden produce for Lome supplies, and a rich mineral section with plenty of wood, water, grass and vegetables is sure to developc a mining town of great importance and prosperity...

The Citizen. SATURDAY, JANUARY 31, lSStt Fighting Indians on Reservations. Our Xew 3Iexico exchanges inform usthnt General Hutch, commanding :he Department of New Mexico, is now organizing a vigorous campaign against the renegade Indians, and that by the earnest solicitation of the Gen eral the War Department has granted him authority to follow any of these renegades upon reservations and fight them wherever found. "We most heartily endorse the proposed cam paign, and hope it m&y meet the great- est success, hut if the fighting on rc ervations is to apply to San Carlos we enter an iron-clad protest right here Detore any mischief is done. Such measures may be recessary and even desirable in New ilexico, but would certainly prove suicidal to the present favorable condition of Indian affairs in Arizona. The San Carlos rescrva tion is the home of the great Apache family in Arizona, ami at no time within the past five years have the dis turbing elements there been able to get! tl ' r...
