U_ F. R. 7 Outing Miss Levy Huntsman acted as hostess for a week-end party at her home four miles west of As- permont Saturday night and Sunday, honoring the "F. R. 7" girls. At 6 o'clock Saturday after- noon the girls assembled at the home of Miss Dora McLaury and in answer to the call of "all abroad" climbed into a large hay wagon drawn by a span of mules. The trip was one of endless amusement. On arriving at her home we were made to feel "at home" by a large cheerful fire-place that seemed to cast its warmth into the heart of all. A vegetable dinner was served "devil's food and delicious lemon pies" forming a desert. Dainty place cards were re- ceived, tied in the club colors. Miss Ethel Ferrell proved the most efficient "dish-washer." Throughout the evening and until the early hours were fast approaching, the time was spent in humorous tales, ghost stories, enigmasr^Simon says wig-wag,'' and all old fashioned sports inter- mingled with some excellent vio- lin music by Emmett Hun...

Richard H. McCarty, Editor and Publisher THE OUTLOOK FOR NEXT YEAR IS PROMISING * E ASPERMONT Aspermont, Stonewall County, Texas, Thursday, Dec. 12, 1912 We Have a Pretty Fair Season im the Ground and the Farmers are Now Breaking Their Land For Next Year's Crop. III We were talking with Capt. T. C. Hoy a few days ago and among other things he said that the prospects for a crop next year were good. He says that they have a pretty fair underground season and that farmers are go- ing right ahead breaking their land for next year's crop. That's the idea, break the land in the winter time then it gets the ben- efit of the winter rains, snow and sleet and holds all the water that falls. Every fawner in the coun- ty should adhere to the gospel of winter plowing. And be sure/] and break it deep; it is not only better than shallow plowing but kills all the insects. The indications are now that grand old Stonewall county will raise a bumper crop next year and then we will all be happy. There'...

It%commenced snowing in As- permont Sunday morning about four o'clock and continued near- ly all day. This is just what Stonewall county needs, plenty of snow, rain and sleet and then some more. If we can get a good underground season this winter, then you can look out for a bump- er crop next year. And God knows we need one more big crop over here in Stonewall coun- ty, so we can play even. One time more we want to urge the farmers to break their land this winter, and be sure and plow your land deep, for two purposes: it helps to conserve the moisture and it kill the insects.
