I A HANDSOME PllOFIT The local Presbylamn Churcb building fund should benefit .£100 as the result of the annual Pair and Christmas Tree, held in the,church grounds last Saturday evening. The weather was all that, could be desired until about 10 o'clock, when a strong blow from the south west setiti raising clouds of dust, and within an hour the grounds were deserted. There was a gratifying attend ance, and by closing time all stall holders weie able to ruporc having made a thorongh clearance. The receipts exceeded the most sanguine expectations, greatly to the delight of the band of ,.workers, who must be complimented ou the very able wanner they organised the fair. j The stalls wire very prelfcily de j corated with evergreens,- flowers, colored lights, balloous, etc., and in 1 the glare of the gaslight the whole formed a most pleasing picture.
