Hospital Committee. The monthly meeting of tho Hospital ? Committee was held in the Council Cham bers on Tuesday night. Present — Messrs J. Connor (in tbech air), J. D. Brown, T. H. York, Jas. Haynes, R. Read, Archdeacon D'Arcy, and Rev R. Barry Brown. A letter was received from the ladies asking permission to visit the hospital and examine all requirements for the patients, such as linen etc. The request was granted. The letter also asksd for permission to see that the patients had tea with their dinner. This matter was referred to Dr. Rygate. Messrs. J. D. Brown, and Jas Haynes were appointed by tho Committee to canvass tho town for the purpose of securing now subscribers. Wedding Bells. [Newspaper Article] — Wellington Times — 12 October 1899

Wedding Bells. A very pretty little wedding was celebrat- ed at St. John's Church yesterday, the Rev. R. Barry Brown officiating, and the con- tracting parties being Mr. Richard Porton, son of Mr. J. Porton, of Ponto, and Miss Elizabeth Yeo, daughter of Mr. J. Yeo, of Little River. A large number of friends congregated at the church to witness the ceremony. The bride was charmingly arrayed in white silk, with wreath veil and orange blossom, and carried a handsome bouquet, the gift of the groom. She was attended, as bridesmaids, by her sister, Miss Yeo (in cream and green), Miss Porton (white satin) and two little girls in cream dresses. Mr. Joseph Porton was best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party adjourned to Mrs. R. Grimson's, where a most sumptuous wedding breakfast had been prepared.
