A SUCCESSFUL TEACHER. [Newspaper Article] — The Raleigh Sun — 20 January 1899

A SUCCESSFUL TEACHER. WE are very pleased to chronicle the fact   that Mr. H. T. Lovell, son of Mr. Lovell, teacher of Fernmount public school, has dis tinguished himself in the recent examinations,     obtaining a full scholarship in the training school for a year. This will entitle him to an allowance of £6 per month, with the ultimate prospect of obtaining a degree at the University. It must be an extremely grati fying matter for his quondam teacher Mr. S. A. Eggins of Bowraville, under whose patron age he graduated and attained such pro ficiency for a period extending over four years. It speaks volumes for the teaching ability of Mr. Eggins, who has a son also in   the teaching staff. We take this oppor tunity of congratulating Mr. Tas. Lovell. It is practically a scholastic record for the Bellinger and Bowraville teachers.
