Wait a Wee. A fact, well known to physicians and all who have studied the causes of disease, is that inaction of the liver and kidnejs gives rise to more constitutional disturbance ? than all other causes put together. Inaction of these organs results in retention of Hie waste valves, ducts, and glands of the diges tive apparatus and excretory channels, where it becomes impacted. The liver is the organ destined to secrete a natural cathartic fluid, called bile, intended to -cany ofi from the system all waste, poisonous, and worthless material by its natural excretive action. HEADACHES, CONSTIPATION, ACHING JQEUBS; LANGOTJK, TJXED FEELINGS, BACKACHE, COSTIVENESS, PAINFUL MJCOTTRATION, GIDDI NESS, INDIGESTION, &c., are all eigns of a torpid liver, and serious disease will set in if the digestive and eliminative organfedo not properly perform their several functions. DB. FLETCHER S PILLS are prepared on a scientific principle to preventimpaction of the haepatic glands, &amp...

IT WAS MARY SHERLOCK'S WAKE. [Newspaper Article] — The North Queensland Register — 24 August 1892

IT WAS MAEY IHERIIOCK'S wiip. " There lays a hundred years o' peace and happiness." It was the wake of MB ry Sherlock, who had died of old age; and u took place on the night of Thursday, March 19th, 1691, in the City of New York- The room was crowded with men and women old and young, and as aged junkman, who sat on a ke^ in the middle of the room, said to every new-comer " There lays a hundred years of peace and happiness," to which the party responded in chorus, " Faith, Mike, niver laruer words did ye speak." For Grandma Sherlock had come to America from Ireland before any of them, and, no doubt, was at least 105 years old when she ended her long journey. But she was one of the old stock, and never knew what illness was. How different is such a story as this, for instance, told by a woman! "1 was never well in my life," she says, " always weak and ailing, constantly sick; and troubled with giddiness and swimming in the head. People who did not know me would at times think I was ti...
