That fact is truly a little martel in its way. all things considered. We are «till suffering a good deal in this part from the present prolong*-"! drought. It is now nearly four months since we w-ere favoured with a good shower. Everything looks dry and parched ; and I suppose our pat ietn-e will have to be taxed some time longer vet, this month being generally a rain- less season. The digger* are perhaps experiencing the ill effects of this drought more than any other«. Though still plodding industriously at their work, and making pavable wages, they never- theless are ptveiuded from all extensile operations, and from breaking up new soil.
