The Principal Ssuperintendent notifies for general in-   formation that, with a view of carrying out the objects of Her Majesty's Government with respect to assignment, he has been directed by the Lieutenant-Governor not to ren- der any further convict mechanical assistance ; and, he therefore hereby intimates to all private individuals now having convict mechanics on loan, that they must be pre- pared to return such convicts to Government on the expiration of the several periods' for which they are now lent.       The Principal Superintendent further notifies, with re- ference to all applications for assigned servants for agri- cultural purposes, that it will be absolutely necessary for the parties applying to state the extent of their farms and the number of convicts already in their respective ser- vices, as otherwise no attention can be paid to their appli- cations.
