Seat le.-This was a long pending action to recover damages for the value of a quantity of cedar taken from the plaintiffs station on the MI'Leay River. Notice had been (given of defence, but no one appearing on behalf of the defendant, the judge directed the jury to return a verdict accordingly-Damages £792. Mr. Justice Willis In certifying for two counsel in the case of Girard v. Seatle, said, that It had been imputed to him as a fault, that lie was in the habit of certifying for two or more counsel in the whole of the cases which caine before him.
