OBITUARY MR THOMAS FREDERICK ELLIOTT, J.P. Following a lengthy illness, the death took place rather suddenly at his home at Lurg on Monday morning last, of Mr Thomus Frederick Elliott, J.P., at the age of 59 years. The late Mr Elliott intended to go to Mel-     bourne that morning for treatment, but took a bad turn and passed away suddenly. Deceased had been a resi- dent of the Upper Lurg district for 33 years, and took a prominent part in many district functions, being president of the Bush Fire Brigade, a member of the picnic committee,     chairman of the school committee, and a life governor of the Wangaratta hospital. He took a keen interest in politics, and for many years was a prominent member of the Country   Party.
