Same Old Story Did you take a "look-see" at the two pretty pictures on the right? Nice buildings and pretty sharp scenery, huh ? But did you notice the long, forlorn look on the students' faces ? Notice also how they are snuggled up on the lawn trying to figure out where to go. No doubt these students are wondering about the new Activities Building. If we had an activities building, these students would have a perfect place to spend their idle moments, instead of roaming aboul the campus in search of adventure. Picture a nice, cozy Activities Building, just a stone's throw from those on the picture, where one could go to exercise biceps, practice speeches, ac quire inspiration for English themes, play basketball, badminton, pingpong, and just oodles of other things. Sounds like something out of "Arabian Nights", or maybe Alladin with his lamp, doesn't it? Like to see it come true ? Well, it can happen here, if we all get on the ball and support the Activities building drive....

A Panacea (Continued from page 2) students of Highacres might be attending classes in the charred ruins of the Walnut street school or reading Wordworth's poetry beside a pastoral stream. When we graduate from Penn State College, our one asset in obtaining a job will be our college diploma. On some part of this piece of paper will be the words, Hazleton Center. The diploma having been presented to an employer, do we want him to look at it and say, "Hazleton ? The students at Hazleton aren't very aggressive, are they?" Are we going to say "no" or are we going to say, "Our student body raised $2500 for an activities building!" This, our stake in the Penn State Center building driveā€”our sheepskin!

Idylls of Oscar (Continued from page 2) peaceful meal, and tried to compose myself. My eyes wandered to the clock on the wall. There was no agreement between the clock and my watch. According to the clock, I should have been out at Highacres 10 minutes ago taking a test. The clock was correct, so I paid for my coffee with my watch, donned dark glasses and worked the block between Laurel and Wyoming until I earned bus fare to Highacres.
