r I 11i THE ADAIR COUNTY NEWS COLUMBIA KY JANUARY 2 1907 FROM OAKLAND CALIFORNIA Editor News JvIf you will allow me a little space in your columns I will at tempt to give you a few of the happenings and also tell you what I have seen during my stay in California Oakland is only five miles from Frisco and any one can catch a ferry boat every 20 minutes across the Bay The Southern Pacific Company have cars that will take you to the ferries and there is also an electric line that runs out across the bay about three miles and there makes connection with ferry boats so this almost makes Frisco and Oakland as one only five miles of water between There is not much need of me attempting to tell anything about the ruined city only it is as bad at you can possibly pict ure it in your imagination Peo ple who have never viewed the ruins think newspapers have quoted it wrong but after they spend a day or so in Frisco they will certainly change their minds when they see 20 square miles of wreck a...
