Jennings of Wilkesbarro, published in tho Press of last Tuesday, tolls how ho has 1,500 acres of woodland covered with trees of good 8jze but nt yet mature. They have been growing thirty years, but should stand ten years longrr for their best development. The assessor, how ever, figures up what ho cousiders tho present mnrkct value of the wood, and by his return places Mr. Jennings under obligation to pay the full tax on thoso trcxes, tliough he has no revenue from them whntevcr. Next year ho must again pay on their market -value, ro gardless of the fact that he can mnrkct them but once. This is a familiar story.
