Required: One and half cups floui7, 6 oz. butter, ?-} cup brown sugar, i cup white sugar,. 3, small eggs, 4 cup cur rants,. i cup raisins or sultanas, 1. oz. ? peel (sliced), 2 tablespoons treacle, 2 tablespoons milk, '1 saltspoon each of-' nutmeg, spice and ground ginger. Sift small teaspoon cream of ttotar and small i teaspoon soda with tho fiour and add spices. Death Of Bonegilla Soldier CAUSED BY SHOCK FROM SWIMMING v Inquest At Wodonga The deputy-coroner (Mr. M. H. iBuntz) conducted an inquiry at Wodonga on Tuesday into the death of Cyril Douglas Davey, aged 2'0 years, a soldier, of Bonegilla Military Camp, which occurred last Friday while he was swimming in Hume Reservoir. Dr. R. A. Robertson, of Albury, who conducted a post-mortem examination of the body, said there were no ex ternal evidence of injury. Tlie lungs : were normal and contained no water. The only sign of abnormality in the organs were an enalrged thymus gland, extending three inches along the front of the trachea, inside the chest cavity, and an enlarged spleen. The cause of death was shock, to which a condition of status lymphaticus was contribu tory. 'In my: opinion, the man was dead when removed from the water,' de clared Dr. Robertson. C. G. Wood, of Bonegilla Military Camp, said last Friday he was on the bank of Hume Weir watching men swimming. He heard someone call ...
