NAMBUCCA LICENSING COURT; _ OtTR Maeksvillc correspondant writes, — 'A*n .-.indignation meeting, representing two thirds of the district, was hold in the School of Arts, Macks ville, on Monday. Mr. H. P. Macklin was voted to the chair, and the following resolutions were unanimously car ried (1.) ' That at least two-thirds'of the residents of the proposed Licensing District of the Nambucca will hp. Mr. John Pom.ock, cordial manufacturer, of Fernniount, hail a most miraculous escape from sudden death on Tuesday Inst. : He Was ruling nftcrn cow near Deep Creek, behind (ho-resideiice qCjVIr. 13. In falling Mr. : Pollock's left foot was caught in, the stirrup, anil no sooner had the horse» recovered' himself than he kickeil out with much strength and rapidity,, the fist kick catchiiig'Mr. Pollock on the fore head; over thc-ri^ht eye, causing a nasty gash. The fact that M r. : Pol lock was - too close to the horse to receive the full force of tha kiclc saved his life. ? Although dazed, he gdt-up and. walked to ;Mri Grant's residence, giving ?the inmates there a severe shock, as by the time he arrived there he was literally covered with blood. Mr. and Mrs. Grant soOn washed and dressed the vvoiind, and later in the day Mr. Pollock rode home.
