LIVERPOOL GOLF CLUB [Newspaper Article] — The Leader — 8 April 1948

LIVERPOOL GOLF CLUB Tlie main attraction at the golf links at the week-end, was the Liverpool v Cumberland match on Saturday. The score was 6 to 3 in favour of the Liverpool team which was a very good effort by our local team, and they should go a long- way towards winning the competition this year. The Cumberland leam were by no means an easy proposi- tion and on their own course should make things very hard for our players. L'verpool team was as follows: N. Pritchard (capt.), N. Bruin, S. Buckland, C. Hunt, A. Andrews. M. Thorne, G. Taylor, B. Pymble and T. Hamer. The other event on Saturday was just as important to club members, being the second qualifying round of the silver cup trophy, resulting in a play-off be- tween H. O'Pray and E. O'Neill who both returned a 65 net. Sunday's event was a Stableford ag- gregate, the winners being N. Pritchard and A. Andrews with 70 points and G. Taylor and M. Thorne runnersup 67. Next Sunday is the Knock-out and players can arrange their own...
