The Ripple, a Bonth Sea trader, which left here on Thurs day last, has not yet been heard of- In her case, however, there is less cause for anxiety, as die is tt sailing vessel with anxilliary screw, and not fast. It was on this craft thai the tragedy at the Solomon Islands occurred. Looking ot her it is intelligible how the mate managed to clear the deck of niggers.' It is very narrow, and the space occupied with deck house and erections of that sort. A Bwatm of niggers jammed in the space would have little c...

Vita tine litetu mort ait. BLACttll, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20^881 WE .arc pleased to notice in the Aramac Mail of lost week a recantation of its professions in favor of the Opposition. The editor now Bays plainly :-" We well remember the Government of the Great Liberals and should regard their return to office as a great calamity." This is really tantamount to a, declara tion that the Mail is a supporter of the present administration, as ifcought to be; but that others besides us construed the remarks in a former issue «B a denuncia tion of the Ministerial policy is evident by certain articles which have recently appeared in the Northeni Argue, a vio lent anti-Ministerial print. On the 18th October the Argus opened fire upon .us for exposing the vaci...
