Poet 'A's Corner Message To My Friends What is a friend? A friend is someone with whom you can Share your most personal secrets With the utmost of confidence That he will keep them to himself. A friend is someone who will open his ears To your problems, And though he may not have the most miraculous, Earth-shaking answers or advice, At least he's listening-showing he cares. A friend is someone who will almost always Do a favor for a fellow crony, Provided, of course, that there is an occasional Reciprocation. A friend is there in time of need. A friend makes you feel important. A friend is a blessing. Therefore, I can say That my friends are the most precious blessings Ever bestowed upon me. Munch

Wrestlers Master Mats-Maul Malone Wrestling has come to Behrend College as the Cubs became 5 and 2 on the season by gaining a 33-12 victory over Malone in their first home game this year. According to coach Onorato, Behrend not only put one in the win column a week ago Wednesday, but also climbed one rung higher on the ladder of respectability. The Cubs are fast gaining the respect of opposing teams, coaches and most important to the team, the respev.. and admiration of the Behrend College fans. Alir Carter (118)Greg Wozniak (126), Larry Fabrizi (134 ) and Brian Vollant (167) all pinned their opponents with Fabrizi putting away Malone's Donis Alpeter in a mere 33 seconds. The most exciting parts of the meet were three decisions won by Behrend grapplers. The first, which occurred in the 142 lb. division saw Mike Mussiarone hang on in the final minutes to gain a 6-5 decision over Malone's Dave Hykes. The most exciting match took place in the 150 lb. class that pitted Behrend's...

What Do They Know? I don't know how munj ol you have read any national accounts of the Orange Bowl, but I have detected a somewhat derogatory note towards State's illustrious victory. Actually, I got downright disgusted when I read John Underwood's article in Sports Illustrated. It is said that the only people who believe that Penn State is as good as Ohio State. ISC, Notre Dame etc . are people from Pennsylvania. Let it go down in the record book that I have been officially inspired and duly motivated to write the following letter to Sports Illustrated (whether or not they print it is another matter): Sirs: As a student of the Penn State University, I would like to express my most sincere apologies to all non-Pennsylvania sports writers, coaches, fans and especially to the LSU Tigers lor our deplorable and inexcusable actions in the " Orange Bowl. We all read with religious fervor the Kt. Reverend John Underwood's account of the gamethe WHOLE paragraphnot to mention many othe...

Collegian Offers Mini-Research Student Involvement NOTE: This column is the second of a series of articles in an attempt to make known to the population at Behrend College and Behrend Collegian readers elsewhere, results of mini-research projects done primarily by students in sociology courses. STUDENT INVOLVEMENT So much has been said about the lack of student involvement at Behrend. But is there really a general apathy in this campus? Is there not one group that is involved? Behrend College students can roughly be stratified into two groups: the "dormies" or . * those who live in the residence halls, and the "commuters" or those who live off-campus. Which of these two groups are more involved in extra-curricular activities at Behrend? This is the question that motivated Susan Latzo (4th term, Sociology) 105 Hess Ave., Erieto ask some 325 Behrend students (125 "dormies" and 200 "commuters') how involved they were in campus affairs. She hypothesized that students living in t...
