The returns received by the secretary of state from 101 of the 105 counties of the state show that the vote at the recent primary election was rather light. They show that about 80 per cent of the normal Republican vote was polled, that the Democrats cast only about 35 per cent of the normal vote, at least as shown by the ballots. The socialists and prohibitions polled about 20 per cent of their normal vote. The total republican vote for governor with four counties .missing, was 118,283. The total republican vote on secretary of slate in 1906 was 163,671. The total democratic vote at the pri mary for governor with four counties missing, was 41,804, while the total vote of the party on secretary of state two years ago was 127,881. .
