I SURVEYING! NEW ROAD Fifteen Engineers at Work on Sixty Eight Mile Survey Detroit to Bemidji. FORCE IN CHARGE OF ET. AB- BOTT OF MINNEAPOLIS. Survey Will Be las near as Pos sible an Air Line Between De troit and this City. There has been a general dis position to make light of the re port that the Northern Pacific is to build from Detroit to this city. The work of surveying the route for such a railway is how ever actually under way, a gang of fifteen civil engineers being being now at work near Detroit. The force is in charge of civil engineer E. T. Abbott of Min neapolis, who refuses to give out any information concerning his operations beyond the fact that he has been instructed to com plete as soon as possible a sur vey on an air line from Detroit to to Bemidji. Mr. Abbott believes that it will take him well in Sep tember to complete the survey, so that whatever may be the in tentions of the railroads, there will probably be no track build mg this fall. ACCUSE OF ARSO N Mrs. Frank Silversack Is Charged With Trying to Burn Property. FIRE DISCOVERED IN LIVERY STABLER AN SALOON. Woman Was Arrested Yesterday And Is Held at County Jail Awaiting Hearing. Charged on two counts of com mitting arson, Louise Silversack, wife of Frank Silversack, pro prietor of a saloon and livery stable at the corner of Minnesota avenue ond Fourth street, is held at the county ]ail awaiting her preliminary examination, which was today postponed until Aug. 15. Fire evidently of an incendiary origin was discovered yesterday afternoon by Mr. Silversack as he was entering the stable, which is located at the rear of the saloon. Flames were coming from one of the mangers of the barn and in a few moments would un* doubtedly have spread to all parts of the building. Mr. Sif versack drew water from a pump located in the barn and threw it upon the fire, succeeding in checking the blaze.
